01- Turin, Italy - August 2020 - On the feast day of Don Bosco, for the 205th anniversary of his birth (August 16), the Rector Major participated in the Eucharistic concelebration which was held at Colle Don Bosco. Fr Ángel Fernández Artime took the opportunity to propose the final document of the 28th General Chapter of the Salesians at the Motherhouse of Valdocco.
02 - Vatican City, Vatican - July 2020 - On 20 July Pope Francis met the children and animators who participated in the first edition of the "Youth Summer Camp" in the Vatican, coordinated by Fr Franco Fontana, SDB, chaplain of the Gendarmerie and of the Vatican Museums.
03 - Korostiv, Ukraine - August 2020 - On the occasion of the anniversary of Don Bosco's birth, the Salesians of Ukraine consecrated a new temple dedicated to the Saint of Youth. The consecration of the church, the first in Ukraine dedicated to Don Bosco, was presided by Msgr. Grygoriy Komar, Bishop-coadjutor of the Eparchy of Sambir-Drogobych of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.
04 - Quito, Ecuador - July 2020 - The indigenous peoples of Latin America are among the most vulnerable in the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU) is supporting indigenous communities in various parts of the country through the distribution of food and hygiene products.
05 - Lilongwe, Malawi – July 2020 - Don Bosco parish of Lilongwe, Malawi, thanks to the donations of "Salesian Missions", the Salesian Mission Office of New Rochelle, United States, was able to buy corn to donate to 382 needy families in the villages adjacent to the parish.
06 - Cambodia - July 2020 - All 5 branches of the "Don Bosco Children Fund" in Cambodia - in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Battambang, Poipet and Kep - in the context of the emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic are providing support to families in need, as well as scholarships for 1,611 children.
07 - Bethlehem, Palestine - August 2020 - Among the activities of the Salesians in the Holy Land is the Bethlehem bakery, which produces 15 types of bread, which is partly sold to local customers and partly donated to one hundred needy families. In total, the oven distributes about three thousand pieces of bread per day.
08 - Lima, Peru - July 2020 - The celebrations for the centenary of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Lima, a cultural and historical heritage site of the city, took place on 26 July. The ceremony included a solemn Eucharist presided by Msgr. Carlos Castillo, Archbishop of Lima, and concelebrated by several Salesians.
