01-Caracas, Venezuela - February 2020 - Animation visit of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, to the Salesian Province of Venezuela, from 6 to 11 February.
02 - Rome, RMG - April 18, 2020 - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, announced that Pope Francis has given his consent to the opening of the Cause of Beatification of Msgr. Giuseppe Cognata, SDB, (1885-1972) Bishop of Bova and Founder of the Salesian Oblates of the Sacred Heart (SOSC). Present were Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator of the Salesian Family, and Mother Graziella Benghini, Superior General of the SOSC.
03 - Rome, RMG - April 2020 - The first meeting of the General Council elected by the 28th General Chapter took place from 27 April to 8 May, renewed in 10 units compared to the previous one. The gathering took place online for the first time due to the inability of several members to participate in person because of the pandemic.
04 - Rome, RMG - June 24, 2020 – Just as Carlo Gastini donated coffee cups to Don Bosco, on June 24, 1870, on the same day, 150 years later, a representation of Don Bosco's Past Pupils donated to Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, a coffee service, accompanied by words of sincere gratitude.
05 - Rome, RMG - March 2020 - The Don Bosco Network (DBN), the coordination body of 9 of the most important Salesian NGOs, has set to work on fighting the Coronavirus and has started, with the patronage of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, a coordinated response to the emergency called “DON BOSCO SOLIDARITY VS COVID-19”, under the guidance of Mission Offices Coordinator Fr George Menamparampil. All over the world, the Salesians immediately took action to help the population in any way possible.
06 - Turin, Italy - 24 May 2020 - During the Eucharist dedicated to young people for the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, celebrated in Turin-Valdocco, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, invited them to entrust themselves to Mary Help of Christians, “Our Lady of difficult times."
07 - Stara Zagora, Bulgaria - March 2020 - A new Salesian presence is emerging in Stara Zagora, in the city center. The Salesians are building a school, a temple in the style of the Eastern rite, and the community house, thanks to the support of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and to the many people who have helped in different ways.
08 - Rome, Italy - June 2020 - On June 27, the 50th anniversary of the canonical erection of the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences "Auxilium" was celebrated. Present at the event were the Rector Major and Grand Chancellor of the Faculty, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and Vice Grand Chancellor, Mother Yvonne Reungoat, with representatives of the academic community.
