(ANS – Rome) – The focus of the 2018 Salesian Mission Day (SMD) is again on the Initial Proclamation of Jesus, this time in the Asian continent with a special attention to the environment of the Vocation Training Center. Starting from the title 'Whispering the Gospel' this SMD looks like a precious gift to all of EAO provinces, with the multiple occasion to rekindle the missionary flame of each Salesian.
(ANS - Manaus) - Laura Vicuña, a blessed of the Salesian Family, whose liturgical memorial was celebrated last 22nd January, is considered the patron saint of victims of ill-treatment and intra-family violence. To understand why, it is necessary to consider her personal history and perceive, in the course of her short life, her strength and her resistance to domestic violence.
(ANS – New Rochelle) – On Sunday, January 14, 2018, Pope Francis celebrated the Sunday morning Mass in St. Peter’s to mark the church’s 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees. From the beginning of his pontificate, Pope Francis has demonstrated a special predilection for migrants and refugees. “Migrants and refugees don't represent just a problem to be solved, but are brothers and sisters to be welcomed, respected and loved” he has said.
(ANS - Madrid) – This new year Europe faces the same challenge of recent years: the refugee crisis. An unresolved problem that represents the tip of the iceberg of demographic movements. In the end, the challenge of welcoming and integrating migrants continues today. It is a challenge that cannot be foreign to the Church. In fact, for 104 years, it has promoted the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which was celebrated yesterday, Sunday, 14 January, under the motto: "Welcoming, Protecting, Promoting and Integrating Migrants and Refugees."
