SPECIAL REPORTS

(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins humanitarian organizations and the international community in honoring International Migrants Day. Each year, International Migrants Day is held on Dec. 18 to recognize the efforts, contributions and rights of migrants worldwide.

(ANS – Rome) – Inspired by the goodness, zeal, and optimistic humanism of St. Francis de Sales, Don Bosco chose him as the patron of his congregation and called his followers Salesians (SDB Const 4, 17). But we can also learn a lot from his missionary strategy which he developed during his missionary experience in the Chablais region of France (1594 – 1597), and during his ministry as exiled bishop of Geneva (1602-1622).

(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins humanitarian organizations and the international community in honoring Human Rights Day, celebrated each year on December 10. Human Rights Day commemorates the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

(ANS - Madrid) - Theater, music, and all their different forms of fusion and admixture are a long-standing tradition in the Salesian works of Spain: older Salesians still recall with pleasure the legendary performances of zarzuelas and sainetes from the Salesian Gallery, adaptations of classic operas to casts of only boys. "La estatua de Pablo Anchoa" or "Sindo, el Tonto" were resounding successes.
