Santa Tecla, El Salvador - 1942 - This photograph, dating from 1942, shows a group of students, school staff and Salesians from the Salesian Institute of Santa Cecilia, in the Salvadoran city of Santa Tecla. It is, specifically, the Arts and Crafts section. The picture, as the inscription reads, was taken on 8 December, on the feast day of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Estoril, Portugal - 1954 - A young student from Estoril reads a message, in the presence of classmates, Salesians and other institutions, immediately after the solemn blessing of the new mechanics workshop. It is 21 March 1954.
Pozoblanco, Spain - 1930s - This photograph shows an image of an old altar dedicated to Mary Help of Christians, in the Salesian school chapel in Pozoblanco (Córdoba). The date of the document is not known precisely, but it seems that the photograph was taken around the 1930s. The church in which the altar is located was opened in 1931, blessed by the parish priest of Pozoblanco, Fr Antonio María Rodríguez Blanco, a former student of the Salesian school in Utrera. The architect was Juan Bautista Caballero.
Farnières, Belgiun – 1929 – The entrance to the horticulture school in Farnières, Grand-Halleux, run by the Salesians. The Farnières building was completed in 1929 at the request of Baron Fernand Orban de Xivry and is the work of architect Octave Flanneau. Arcose stone, a type of stone typical of the region in which the building stands, was used to construct the façade.
