Magdalena del Mar, Peru – 1970 – A shot dating back to about 1970 that captures a football match played on the dirt field at the Salesian Magdalena del Mar Oratory behind the church. The image, from the Salesian Peru's Historical Archives, is also part of the commemorative photographic exhibition "Church, courtyard and sea: 100 years of the Salesian parish of Magdalena del Mar".

Lisbon, Portugal - 1902 - A group of students from the Oficinas de São José in Lisbon are pictured, together with some Salesians, during an excursion to the Portuguese Quinta do Pinheiro de Cima Resort. The photograph dates back to the year 1902 and was published on the Facebook page of the Salesians of Portugal.

Cordoba, Argentina – 1949 – In 1949 Fr Pietro Berruti visited the Salesian Pius X school in the city of Cordoba. Fr Berruti, here portrayed together with a large group of students, was Superior of the Salesian Province of Chile for five years and, subsequently, held the position of Vicar of the Rector Major with Fr Peter Ricaldone. He was also Extraordinary Visitor for the Salesian world. He was called "the aristocrat of kindness", since charity was the most important characteristic of his work. During the Second World War, he wanted every Salesian House to open its doors to abandoned, orphaned and struggling young people. This earned him the title of "Father of street children". He died in Turin in 1950.

Turin, Italy - 1950s - Immortalised in this shot, dating back to the early 1950s, is a moment of study and formation at the Don Bosco International Institute of Turin - Crocetta. The study centres founded in Turin for the formation of Salesians, such as the one in Crocetta, gradually developed into a cultural focal point that  moved to Rome in 1965, to its new headquarters in the Nuovo Salario district. This image, together with other valuable historical photographs, is available on the website of the Pontifical Salesian University
