(ANS – Quito) – Involving 19 representatives of Salesian communities and works, the meeting of Local Communication Representatives took place from 2 to 4 October 2024, at the Salesian Provincial House in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province of Ecuador. The meeting included very significant activities and moments, with the animation visit of Fr Ricardo Campoli, Salesian Communication Coordinator for America.

(ANS – Bangalore) – Recently, the mobile clinic team from the Don Bosco Centre for Social Action and Movement in Bidar had an impactful encounter at a time of emergency.

(ANS – Bombo) – Close to 1,700 youth at Salesian schools in Uganda have better nutrition through a partnership between Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, and Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization growing a global movement to end hunger. Four Salesian schools received a donation in the first half of 2024.

(ANS – Bangkok) – On 6 October 2024, Fr Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc, Councillor for the East Asia-Oceania Region, arrived in Thailand. He was welcomed at the airport by the Provincial Fr Boonlert Paneetatthayasai and at the Provincial house by the present Salesians as well by the Bishop emeritus of Surat Thani diocese Bishop Joseph Prathan, SDB.

(ANS – Nazareth) – Although in principle legal rights are the same for all Israeli citizens, almost all cities and villages inhabited by Arabs experience significantly poorer living conditions than their Jewish counterparts. These communities face numerous challenges, including lower levels of formal education and a range of socio-economic problems. The Christian population is mainly concentrated in the northern district and in Haifa, and Nazareth, where the Salesian community is located, which has a population of almost 30,000 inhabitants.
