In Spain, thousands of young people face barriers that hinder their access to the labour market. The lack of training, economic constraints and the absence of support networks are challenges that perpetuate their social exclusion. For over 25 years, the Don Bosco Foundation has been working to break this cycle, providing training, guidance and access to work.
Thanks to its holistic approach, the Foundation has already transformed the lives of thousands of young people, who now have new opportunities to build a dignified future.
The #CorazónSalesianocampaign seeks to bring new members who wish to support this work. With the slogan "Become a member and write their future", the initiative underlines the importance of citizens' commitment to improving the lives of young people in vulnerable situations. Becoming a member involves not only a financial contribution, but also the opportunity to be an active part of a life-changing movement.
Thanks to the support of donors, it is possible to give:
Residential assistance: in a family environment, a house is offered and hundreds of young people are accompanied so that they can achieve their emancipation;
Personalised accompaniment: job placement plans designed together with consultants and educators to meet the needs and aspirations of each young person;
Training programmes: courses adapted to the demands of the labour market in sectors such as hospitality, new technologies, renewable energy, customer service and more;
Internship and work: agreements with companies that facilitate access to work experiences and real jobs;
Emotional support: safe spaces where young people can overcome difficulties and regain confidence in their potential.
One of the pillars of the campaign is to make real stories of overcoming obstacles visible, such as that of Laura, a 19-year-old girl who arrived at the foundation with no future prospects after dropping out of school. Thanks to a customer service course and the constant support of her tutor, Laura has not only completed her training, but now works in a telecommunications company.
“The Don Bosco Foundation gave me a second chance. Today I am independent and I am building a future for myself and my family, "said the young Laura.
Stories like his show that, with the right support, every young person has the potential to transform their life.
The month of January, then, has a special meaning for the Don Bosco Foundation, which celebrates the feast of St John Bosco on 31 January. Inspiring the Salesian work, his commitment to young people at risk continues to guide every action of the Foundation, which works for a world in which everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential.
