Archbishop George Antonysamy of Madras-Mylapore was the Chief Guest. Sashi Kumar, Chairman of the Asian College of Journalism; Father L. Don Bosco SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Chennai; Father M.A. Joe Antony SJ from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchy; and Father Sajith Cyriac SSP, Editor of St Pauls Publications, were the Guests of Honour. Releasing the book, Archbishop George said, "It is a simple yet heartbreaking book. The title 'Are You Ready to Love?' reminds me of Jesus’ question to Peter, 'Do you truly love me?' In a deeply human way, this book echoes the voice of the Divine Master, asking each of us, 'Are you ready to love?' The essence of human life is love, and the book speaks of discovering oneself in God and finding the love that everyone seeks. Without love, we cannot move forward.”
Delivering the keynote address, Sashi Kumar, Chairman of the Asian College of Journalism, noted, "Today, when I think of school education, it was one of the most memorable classes I had. There were discussions about values, values that we find increasingly missing in our day and time. The vitiation of this concept (of love) is what is prevalent today. The book tries to bring fresh perspectives, drawing from various traditions and sources."
Alongside the book release, a book donation campaign, "Butterfly Express: Library for Village Schools", was launched. This initiative, conceptualized by Don Bosco Kalvisolai, aims to set up well-resourced libraries in rural areas.
N. Ram, Director of The Hindu Group Publishing Private Limited, and Doctor Jayakumar Reddy of Apollo Hospitals inaugurated the campaign by unveiling its logo. N. Ram stressed the importance of donating valuable books, saying, "People should not donate books that they want to discard but give books of value. There must be a conscious attempt to give good books, lift the spirit of the young, and elevate their thinking."
Joshua Mathan, CEO of Covenant Group, said the aim of the project was to help rural students catch up with the habit of reading and become successful. He invited good-hearted people to generously donate either books or funds for purchasing books.
Speaking of the relevance of the book, Father M.A. Joe Antony SJ, the former editor of The New Leader magazine, observed, "The book can be immensely helpful to everyone, particularly to youth, whose age makes them think and talk about love all the time."
In his foreword to the book, Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil lauded the book as “a moving and powerful book. It is a beacon of hope in tumultuous times, urging us to rediscover the healing power of love.”
