The seminar has three main goals:
- reflect on current youth realities in the secular contexts of complex, plural and multi-religious societies, and in relation to the distancing of the believing experience;
- investigate the need to return to the kerygma, courageously proposing the Good News of Jesus Christ;
- propose pastoral paths to accompany the experience of faith, starting from first proclamation and acceptance of the Gospel.
The specific recipients are pastoral workers, Salesians and lay people with evangelising experience and responsibility in animation; pastoral coordinators in secularised and multi-religious contexts; accompanying young people on paths of growth in the faith. All of them will be able to register – by 30 September – and must contact the Youth Ministry Delegate in their Province.
The speakers for the three days of discussion include Fr Jesús Rojano, a member of the National Centre for Salesian Youth Ministry in Spain, who in the afternoon of the first day will introduce the theme "young people and faith"; Fr Gustavo Cavagnari, Professor of Pastoral Theology at the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome, who on Saturday morning will draw the essential lines in the announcement of the kerygma; and Fr Koldo Gutiérrez, also a member of the National Centre for Salesian Youth Ministry in Spain, who in the final Sunday's work session will speak on the matter of accompanying young people from the First Announcement.
There will also be a presentation of various best practices collected in the Salesian activities of the Region, (concerning First Annunciation in the Salesian house at Sarriá, the "cayuco" pastoral care and initiatives with young migrants from the Middle East), in addition to the traditional moments of fraternity, of shared spirituality, and a final planning phase for the future through a final discussion session with the participants divided by Province.
