Alejandro Musolino was born on 30 October 1971 in Córdoba. He made his First Profession as a Salesian of Don Bosco on 31 January 1991, his Perpetual Profession on 4 October 1997 and was ordained a priest on 11 December 1999.
After obtaining a Diploma for teaching in Philosophy and Educational Sciences at the Dominic Savio Institute in Córdoba, he specialized in Salesian Spiritual Accompaniment at the Salesian Centre for Permanent Formation in Quito, Ecuador. He also obtained a Diploma in Spiritual Discernment according to the method of St Ignatius of Loyola, offered by the Catholic University of Córdoba.
Over the years he has held the following positions: Formator of Aspirants and Pre-novices and Vice Rector of the "Domenico Savio" Institute; Superior of the Post-novitiate and Head of the Salesian Centre for Philosophical Studies; Director of the Don Bosco Institute of Rodeo del Medio in Mendoza; Provincial Councillor and Economer of the Province of North Argentina (ARN); Member of the Salesian Youth Pastoral Team; Director of the Salesian Institute of "Pio X" in Córdoba and Member of the Archdiocesan Council of Religious.
Together with Fr Musolino, the Holy Father also appointed another Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Córdoba: Fr Horacio José Álvarez, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, who was assigned the titular See of Cubda.
