"Salesians and Laity. Communion in the gift of the charism": this was the main theme around which the different interventions were centered and around which the 39 participants were invited to reflect, pray and share.
Fr. Gabriele Quinzi introduced the three days with a reflection on the inevitability of communication in all human behavior. The evening meeting with Father Bernardo, abbot of the Benedictine monastery of San Miniato al Monte, shone a special light on the prophetic capacity that consecrated life possesses in its relationship with other states of life.
The figure of Giorgio La Pira, with his life spent in having the beauty of the agreement between charity and justice resonate, matched well with Blessed Angelico's sublime ability to depict the mystery of the Incarnation, an oeuvre the young Salesians had the opportunity to admire at the San Marco Museum.
Br. Paolo Zini, SDB, principal of the Salesian studentate in Nave (BS), helped to competently articulate the topic of charism from the theological, ecclesiological, and anthropological perspectives.
Finally, the trainees had the opportunity to listen to the living voice of some lay witnesses about the incarnation of the Salesian charism in realities lacking the presence of a religious community.
All in all, it was three days rich in insights to keep reflection alive around the sharing of a true gift from God for the whole Church, especially for the poorest and most abandoned young people to be loved in the style of Don Bosco.
