Tokyo, Japan - September 2024 - From 25 August to 8 September, ten members of the Don Bosco Volunteer Group (DBVG),including two Salesians, a seminarian and seven students, volunteered in Vietnam. Departing from Tokyo, Japan, the group, having arrived in Vietnam, visited the seminary and the residence in Saigon; they interacted with the novices at the Ba Thôn community through cultural presentations of their respective countries, games, dances, prayers and more. On 27 August, they arrived in Tắc Vân, Cà Mau province, the southernmost part of Vietnam, and began their volunteer work which was mainly based on painting and cleaning the student dormitory in the church, helped by the young parishioners. During the breaks they played sports with the young people, gave Japanese lessons to the young people who in turn taught Vietnamese dance, strengthening their friendship. There were many activities carried out by the members of the DBVG who also donated rice and food to the families of the children who attend school and cleaned up rubbish around the church. On 6 September, the group of volunteers returned to Saigon and visited the community in Cầu Bông.

Lo Cañas, Chile - September 2024 - Representatives of the Salesian Schools Network of Chile participated in the Directors' retreat and day held at the Lo Cañas Spirituality Centre, from 2 to 5 September. The motto of the meeting was "A good exercise in our journey", and was led by the Youth Ministry team of the Salesian Province of Chile (CIL) and accompanied by Salesian Father Carlos Ampuero. The objectives of the meeting were to strengthen the identity of the director starting from his vocational response as a leading pastor and educator, through prayer, personal and community reflection and networking, through collaboration and the creation of specific action projects that ensure leadership within the community. This approach involved moments of presentation of relevant topics, spaces for silence and personal prayer, personal and shared reflection, workshops and sharing of exercises and studied elements. The executive coordinator of Youth Ministry, Freddy Araya, said that "the thematic focus of this retreat experience is focused on recognising us as people who pray and servants following the example of Don Bosco. Don Bosco the contemplative in action. It was an extraordinary opportunity for learning, great spiritual substance and fraternal sharing, which is what has characterised this meeting over the years". In addition, the program included a day led by the provincial educational team, which focused its work on the Salesian Educative and Pasoral Plan (SEPP) and successful best practices, a group work workshop to create actions and strategies for pedagogical guidance in management, school coexistence and resource management.

Finetown, South Africa – September 2024 - Saturday 7 September, the PurePath Alliance held a one-day workshop on  "The entertainment industry: Good or bad influence on young people?". The workshop was facilitated by Salesian Brother Clarence Watts, s Social Communications Delegate of the Southern Africa Mission (AFM), and by Fr Odise Lazri and was held at the Sancta Maria Church in Finetown. The PurePath Alliance was founded by young people from the Salesian All Saints  Parish in Ennerdale as the result of the LoveMatters programme that takes place at the Bosco Youth Centre. The purpose of the movement is to guide young people to live a holy life and to foster a more intimate relationship with God.

Villa Luzuriaga, Argentina – September 2024 – Salesian Rodrigo Benítez Martínez was ordained a deacon by Bishop Juan Carlos Romanín, SDB, Bishop Emeritus of Río Gallegos.
