Slovenia – Priestly Ordination of Salesian Gregor Markelc
Novo Mesto, Slovenia – June 2024 – On the eve of the Feast of St Peter and Paul, 28 June, Bishop Andrej Saje, bishop of Novo Mesto, Slovenia, ordained Salesian Gregor Markelc to the priesthood . He is originally from the parish of Šentrupert in Dolenjska. The ordination took place during a joyful celebration at the Novo Mesto Cathedral. Also present were Fr Peter Končan, Superior of the Salesian Province of Slovenia, Bishop Stanislav Hočevar, SDB, Bishop Emeritus of Beograd, Bishop Andrej Glavan, Bishop Emeritus of Novo Mesto, Salesians, men and women religious. The celebration was then enriched by a musical performance with songs, organ and flute, performed by friends of the newly ordained.
