Dominican Republic – The 23rd Provincial Chapter of the Antilles begins

Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic - May 2024 - The Salesians of St John Bosco Province of the Antilles (ANT) met to begin their 23rd Provincial Chapter on Saunday 12 May, solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, at the Salesian Pinar Quemado Work in Jarabacoa, . Chapter members began the work with Morning Prayer on Monday, 13 May , recalling the legacy of Saint Mary Domenica Mazzarello, whose liturgical memory was celebrated that day. The day continued with a recollection preached by Fr Jhonny Almonte, OCSO, and the Eucharistic celebration at the beginning of the Chapter, presided over by Fr José Pastor Ramírez, Superior of ANT, during which divine guidance was invoked to guide the work of the assembly, scheduled until Friday, 17 May. The opening ceremony was followed by the analysis of the Provincial's report, a moment of reflection and collaboration in which all those present gathered to discuss the path taken and to imagine the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
