Italy – Prayer for peace in Syria at Colle Don Bosco
Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Italy - October 2016 – At Evening Prayer on 11 October, the Salesian community of Colle Don Bosco, led by Fr Luca Barone, blessed a lamp that will burn as a sign of supplication for peace in the Middle East and particularly in Syria. The lamp is placed on the altar in the Lower Basilica that was contributed by the Province of the Middle East when the then Rector Major asked for contributions from the whole Salesian world for the construction of the Church on the hill of the birthplace of Don Bosco. Today the community which preserves and keeps alive those holy places feels an obligation of prayer and solidarity with the whole Salesian world.
