Salesian Cardinals
The first Salesian cardinal was Giovanni Cagliero, created in 1915 by Pope Benedict XV.
On October 5, Pope Francis created 13 new cardinals, including Mons. Cristóbal López Romero, SDB.
Now there are 9 Salesians members of the College of Cardinals.
The Salesian presence at the Synod on the Amazon
The Synod on the Amazon will be held from 6 to 27 October 2019. There are a total of 185 participants.
There will be 15 Salesians and 2 Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
The first Salesian college outside Turin
The first college erected by Don Bosco, outside Turin, was that of Mirabello Monferrato.
On October 20, 1863, a college was opened which took the name of the Piccolo Seminario San Carlo.
