Religious freedom: the 2019 report
From the report “Persecuted more than ever. Focus on anti-Christian persecution between 2017 and 2019", realized by the Pontifical Foundation Aid to the Church in Need, shows that:
Nearly 300 million Christians live in lands of persecution;
20 countries in the world are extremely worrying as regards human rights violations;
The statistics of the Catholic Church
On the occasion of the 93rd World Missionary Day, Sunday 20 October 2019, Fides Agency presented as usual some statistics to offer a panoramic picture of the Church in the world.
The world population is 7,408,374,000 people, among whom the Catholics are 1,313,278,000. The worldwide percentage of Catholics has increased by 0.06%, reaching 17.73%.

Next October 20, 2019 World Mission Day will be celebrated.
From the very first expedition in 1875, the Salesians have never stopped showing their missionary spirit.
On that 11 November 1875, six priests and four Salesian Brothers departed.
Salesian Cardinals
The first Salesian cardinal was Giovanni Cagliero, created in 1915 by Pope Benedict XV.
On October 5, Pope Francis created 13 new cardinals, including Mons. Cristóbal López Romero, SDB.
Now there are 9 Salesians members of the College of Cardinals.
