(ANS - Rome) - Yesterday, 2 February. the documentary "Alto el fuego" (Ceasefire) was shown in Rome to a large audience of journalists. The film was made by "Misiones Salesianas" in Madrid in collaboration with the Salesian House "Ciudad Don Bosco" in Medellin, Colombia. After the screening of the documentary, many questions were put to the two former child soldiers present, Manuel and Catalina (fictitious names). "Catalina, did you decide to join FARC? Why did you leave it?" - "Yes. I decided to join and I decided to leave … "

(ANS – Brussels) – On the occasion of the Feast of Don Bosco, Don Bosco International has organized for the first time, an evening reception in partnership with the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community (COMECE) to celebrate Don Bosco. This new initiative counted on the presence of Fr. Fabio Attard, President of DBI.

Antoine Farrugia and Ángel Gudiña have taken part in the Conference “Lost in Migration”, organized by the Maltese President’s Foundation for the Well-being of Society together with Missing Children Europe. The Conference was focused on the terrifying phenomenon of the 10,000 minors being unaccounted for in Europe last year, as Director of Europol, Mr. Rob Wainwright reported upon.

(ANS – Mumbai) – What is common between veteran Bollywood film makers Mahesh Bhatt, Anand Patwardhan and famous actor Akshay Kumar? They are all alumni of the reputed Don Bosco High School at Matunga, Mumbai. While the trio took the mass medium to greater heights in their own right to entertain and drive home a lesson or two, their monk mentors, known as the Salesian priests of the Catholic Church have also started reaching out to the masses through the medium of the films.

(ANS – Rome) – Over 50 years of armed conflict in Colombia between FARC, ELN, the Paramilitaries and the State left on the field eight million victims. Throughout this time, thousands of children were part of armed groups and in their turn became the victims, because their childhood remained attached to arms, the forest was their only home and the battalion their sole family. This is why the Salesian Missionary Procure of Madrid presents on Thursday, February 2nd, in Rome, the documentary “Alto el Fuego” (Cease Fire) on the process of personal rehabilitation and social reintegration of Child Soldiers implemented by the Salesians.

(ANS – Rome) – The 35th edition of the Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family has come to an end. These days were held from January 19th to 22nd, under the responsibility of Fr. Eusebio Muñoz, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family. The first activity of the last day was the celebration of the Eucharist, that was presided over by Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, who said, “We, as Salesian Family, are in this world, in our society, to witness to the light!”

(ANS – Rome) – In a festive atmosphere, the 35th edition of the Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family has come to an end, with the presence of hundreds of participants of the Salesian Family and the constant accompaniment of Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major. 

(ANS – Rome) – A moment of deep reflection marked the second day of the “Days of the Salesian Family” at the General House in Rome, with the presence of over 500 people from different countries of the world, representing 21 groups of the Salesian Family.

(ANS – Rome) – “We are 21 groups of the Salesian Family here present on these Days, and I am very happy for this. But I want to say something that is fundamental: Salesian Family: We are born to be witnesses of God!” With there words Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, invited to live the 35th edition of the Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family, that is being held from January 19th to 22nd at the General House and at the “Salesianum”.

(ANS – Rome) – One day is left to the great appointment of the Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family (GSFS). The event, which this year reaches its 35th edition, begins tomorrow, January 19th, and finishes on Sunday 22nd. As per tradition, the theme of the works is the Strenna of the Rector Major, which for 2017 is: “We are Family! Every Home a School of Life and Love”.
