(ANS - Meruri) - At dawn yesterday, 15 July, the Salesian community gathered in the Meruri cemetery, where the tomb of the martyrs Fr Rudolph Lunkenbein and Simão Bororo is located. Fr Ricardo Carlos, Provincial of the Brazilian Campo Grande Province (Salesian Mission of Mato Grosso - BCG), led the prayer of thanksgiving to God the Father for the gift of martyrdom He gave to the Church of Mato Grosso, the Salesian Congregation and all the BCG Province.

(ANS – New York) – Participating virtually from Ambato, Nelly Mariana Soto Guanolusia from “Fundación Proyecto Salesiano”, Ecuador, presented the organic farming initiative of her commune that addresses the issue of poverty and hunger.  She said that this project also integrates the work for children on the street into its overall goals and objectives.

(ANS - Makati City) - The Salesian education leaders in the Basic Education Departments (BED) in the schools of the SDB-FIN Province gathered in the Joy Center of Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati for a whole day of learning, direction setting, and updating last June 21, 2021. Notwithstanding the COVID-19 pandemic, they braved the fear and uncertainty brought by the pandemic and met face-to-face for the first time since March 2020 to share and learn from each other how the basic education landscape was changed by the pandemic and how the Don Bosco schools creatively adjusted to these changes and are continually challenged to adapt to these challenges.

(ANS – Kolkata) – The 12th Asia-Oceania online Regional Congress of Don Bosco Past Pupils marking the 150th anniversary of the World Association of Past Pupils concluded on June 26, 2021. The two-day event focused on Salesian Delegate, Young Past Pupils and Networking. Delegates and members from 23 out of 28 countries of the region participated. First-timers included participants from Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia, Solomon Islands and Sri Lanka.

(ANS - Brasilia) - The Salesian Forum for the Global Educational Pact took place online on 17 and 18 June, an event jointly promoted by the Brazil Salesian Network (RSB) Schools and RSB Comunications. The Forum involved educators and students in the commitment to the Global Educational Pact proposed by Pope Francis and renewed their passion for education based on the principles of the new humanism. The event brought together 1,275 students and educators representing 94 RSB schools, as well as special guests and provincial coordinators.

(ANS - Paris) – The 15th edition of "Festiclip", the short film festival organized by the Salesian Province "France-South Belgium" (FRB), took place on Saturday, 5 June 2021. With participants connecting via web, the finale saw 11 teams competing to win various prizes.

(ANS - Rome) - The 12th Congress of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco of Asia and Oceania will take place on 25 and 26 June, the first to be carried out digitally. The two-day online program envisions three sessions with the evaluation of the path taken since the previous Congress in Dili, Timor Leste (2016), reports from each Alumni National and Provincial Federation as well with two special inputs and the possibility for smaller group interaction.

(ANS - Lione) - Three years ago, during a meeting in Gradignan, the "Don Bosco Action Sociale" network (DBAS) was set up, designed to bring together in a single body all those associations active in the social sector that refer to the pedagogy of Don Bosco: the "Don Bosco" Institute of Gradignan, the "Valdocco" association that works in 12 sensitive neighborhoods, the AEPCR, engaged in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, the "Fondation du Bocage" in Chambéry, the AIFST in Caen ... In total, 16 associations decided to join the network for a total of 65 structures involved. Three years later, in Lyon, the network's second meeting, which made it possible to measure the progress made.

(ANS - Rome) - For the first time in the Congregation's history, a world meeting has been convened where the representatives of the Mission Sector, the Youth Ministry Sector, the NGOs for Development and the Salesian Mission Offices directly at the service of the Congregation, along with the provincial representatives of the Planning and Development Offices (PDOs), the Mission Offices, and the Salesian Social Sector from all over America, gathered - from 23 American countries and 6 countries in Europe - to get to know each other better and strengthen the foundations of a common path in and as a network.

(ANS - Rome) - In the last two weeks of May and the first of June, delegates, consecrated persons and lay people from all the Provinces of the world participated in three formative sessions organized by the Youth Ministry Sector. This initiative was conceived in response to the need of the Provinces to form and share the pastoral and moral keys for the affective-sexual education of young people, thinking of educational criteria. The participation was very numerous and representative of the various realities: a total of about 580 people across three days.
