(ANS - Rome) - The "International Congress of Salesian Works and Social Services" that will take place in Turin-Valdocco from 28 September to 2 October 2022 is one of the major events on the calendar this year for the Youth Ministry Sector. The congress, which is expected to draw more than 300 participants from across the Salesian world, opened for registration last Tuesday, March 1.
(ANS - Rome) - The Salesian Congregation and the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) announce the International Convention dedicated to "St. Francis de Sales: Posterity - Spirituality - Pedagogy", which will take place from 18 to 20 November 2022 at UPS, in Rome. Four hundred years after the death of this great saint, which occurred in Lyon on December 28, 1622, the conference intends to offer a contribution to the study of his life, his works, and the influence of his thought and spirituality.
(ANS - Rome) - In Turin’s Don Bosco House Museum, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, recently inaugurated the year dedicated to Saint Francis de Sales on the 400th anniversary of his death. The content of the Strenna and the in-depth study of the figure of the holy Savoyard bishop during the days of spirituality of the Salesian Family, held in Turin from 13 to 16 January, signaled the beginning of the year dedicated to him. In continuity with these initiatives, the Study Center ‘Opera dei Tabernacoli Viventi’, in collaboration with the Conference of the Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI) - Formation Sector, is promoting the third meeting of the course "Which Salesians for today's young people?" on the theme "St. Francis de Sales and the Eucharist", to be held Saturday 22 January from 9 to 10:15 a.m. (UTC+1).
(ANS – Bruxelles) – The event “Our hope for Europe: Conference on the Future of Europe” will be held on 7 December 2021, 19:00 – 21:00 (CET) at the Chapel for Europe, Brussels, Belgium. The Executive Secretary of Don Bosco International, Mr Renato Cursi, is joining the conversation in the event’s second session. The event is part of the churches’ contribution to the ongoing Conference on the Future of Europe.
(ANS - Turin) - On Saturday, 27 November 2021, a conference was held at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Theology at Crocetta in Turin, to study the spiritual figure of the Venerable Salesian, Fr Giuseppe Quadrio, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth in Vervio, in the province of Sondrio, Italy, on November 28, 1922.
(ANS - Rome) - Over the past weekend, from 26 to 28 November, the General Assembly, the most important meeting of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, which occurs every six years, took place online. On the occasion, the World Presidency was also renewed, which since yesterday has been entrusted to the leadership of Bryan Magro, Maltese Past Pupil, the current Economer of the Confederation.

(ANS – Munich) – During a symposium, on October 28, with the participation of the Bavarian State Minister for Family, Labour and Social Affairs, Carolina Trautner, as well as experts from science and practice, the Salesians of Don Bosco in Munich draw attention to the accessibility of “disconnected” and hard-to-reach young people. According to estimates, more than 480,000 adolescents and young adults between the ages of 14 and 25 are currently not in employment, school or training in Germany. State and social institutions often do not reach them.
(ANS - Araçatuba) - The "UniSALESIANO" Salesian Catholic University Center, belonging to the Brazil-Campo Grande Province (BCG) and with offices in Araçatuba and Lins, has organized its 1st International Congress on Educational Technology (ISCED) from 13 to 15 October. The goal of the event, which will take place digitally and which features over 90 conferences, is to offer interesting reflections and ideas for a truly transforming and enriching education, and which are of interest to those who always want to stay up to date in the latest technology and trends.
(ANS - Brussels) - Next Monday and Tuesday, 4-5 October 2021, the fourth conference on Social Innovation for Refugee Inclusion (SI4RI, in English) will take place in digital mode. The event, jointly organized by the European Institute for Migration Policies, the United States Mission to the European Union, the Canadian Mission to the European Union and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), has proposed an ambitious objective from its very title: “Sowing innovation in the cracks of crisis”.
