Lisbon, Portugal - May 2016 - As part of his visit to the Salesians in Portugal, from 23 to 27 May, Fr Stefano Martoglio, Councillor for the Mediterranean Region, celebrated the Eucharist on 24 May in honour of Mary Help of Christians. The Mass was attended by 2,300 pupils of the Salesian schools in Lisbon. During the visit Fr Martoglio attended a meeting of the Provincial Council, and visited some communities, giving everyone an example of optimism and hope.

Santa Fe, Argentina - May 2016 - On 29 May, Hernán Matías Rivas, SDB, was ordained priest through the laying on of hands by Bishop Dante Braida of Mendoza.

Melbourne, Australia - May 2016 - On 22 May, Daniel Rafanomezantsoa made his perpetual profession as a Salesian of Don Bosco in the hands of Fr Greg Chambers, Provincial in Australia.  

Cayambe, Ecuador - May 2016 - On 21 May Bishop Alfredo Espinoza, SDB, of the Diocese of Loja, presided at the ordination of the Salesian Andres Acosta. The concelebrants included Fr Jorge Molina, Salesian Provincial in Ecuador and Fr Robert García, Vice-Provincial.

Nairobi, Kenya - May 2016 - On 21 May, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Nairobi, Bishop Paul Kariuki of the Diocese of Embu ordained 4 new Salesian priests and 12 Deacons – 11 Salesians and one Franciscan of Our Lady of the poor.
