Los Palos, East Timor – 23 May 2016 - During the consultation for the appointment of the new Superior of Indonesia-East Timor (ITM), 21 to 28 May, Fr Václav Klement, Councillor for the Region of East Asia-Oceania, accompanied by Fr Apolinário Neto, Vice-Provincial ITM, paid a visit to the pre-novitiate of Los Palos and met 15 pre-novices and the director, Fr Mario Do Rosario.

Luanda, Angola – May 2016 – On 24 May, the Salesian community of N’Dalatando in the Vice-Province of Angola held the traditional procession in honour of Mary Help of Christians.

Santa Eulalia, Peru - May 2016 – The Chapter of the Salesian Province of Peru is taking place from 26 May to 3 June. The Provincial, Fr Santo Dal Ben, is presiding and Fr Humberto Chavez Franco is moderator. Forty-one Salesian chapter members are taking part. 

Gleno, East Timor - May 2016 - On 20 May, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 14th anniversary of restoration of independence of East Timor, the Salesian Fr Eligio Locatelli received the "Grande Colar com a Ordem de Timor Leste". The prestigious award was presented by the President of the Republic of East Timor, the Hon. Taur Matan Ruak, for the contribution that Fr Locatelli made for the independence and development of the country. Fr Locatelli, an Italian missionary, was a pioneer of the Salesian mission in Fatumaca and founder of the Don Bosco College of Fatumaca.

Lisbon, Portugal - May 2016 - As part of his visit to the Salesians in Portugal, from 23 to 27 May, Fr Stefano Martoglio, Councillor for the Mediterranean Region, celebrated the Eucharist on 24 May in honour of Mary Help of Christians. The Mass was attended by 2,300 pupils of the Salesian schools in Lisbon. During the visit Fr Martoglio attended a meeting of the Provincial Council, and visited some communities, giving everyone an example of optimism and hope.

Santa Fe, Argentina - May 2016 - On 29 May, Hernán Matías Rivas, SDB, was ordained priest through the laying on of hands by Bishop Dante Braida of Mendoza.
