Los Teques, Venezuela - February 2017 - Two important meetings were held in the month of February at the Villa Don Bosco retreat house.   From 10 to 12 February there was the Second Meeting of discernment on the theme "For me Life is Christ", with the participation of 43 teenagers and young people from the Salesian houses in the country. Then on 13-14 February there was the Second Meeting of the Salesian Youth Voluntary Service, with the aim of assessing the experiences of volunteers in the first three months of the year and providing a space for an accompaniment and formation.

Amatitán, Mexico - February 2017 - The Rectors and Provincial Council members of the Salesians in Mexico held their retreat from 12 to 18 February. The retreat was preached by Fr Juan José Bartolomé on the theme "The Compassionate Jesus." It was attended by 56 Salesians of the two Provinces of Mexico City (MEM) and Guadalajara (MEG). The concluding Mass was presided over by Fr Timothy Ploch, Councillor for the Inter-America Region, who is making the Extraordinary Visitation to the MEG Province.

Japan - Seminar on Salesian Spirituality

Tokyo, Japan - February 2017 – A seminar on Salesian Spirituality was held at the Provincial House of the Sisters of Charity of Jesus in Suginami, Tokyo. It was attended by about 150 members of the Salesian Family in eastern Japan. Prayers were offered for the release of the Salesian kidnapped in Yemen, Fr Thomas Uzhunnalil.

Kenitra, Morocco - February 2017 – On 17 February, 54 students of the electrical energy and industrial sector of the Don Bosco Professional School in Kénitra received their diplomas in front of many invited guests and past pupils.

Xuan Hiep, Vietnam - February 22, 2017 - On 22 February at the Rinaldi Studies Centre the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, met with the Rectors and coordinators of the Salesian works in Vietnam (VIE) and the members of the Provincial Council. Fr Á.F. Artime pointed out two priorities: to take to heart the life of every Salesian in their communities and accompany him with loving kindness; and to help build a culture of communion in the provincial community. He offered many suggestions on how to grow as Rectors and opened a forum on the role and formation of Rectors. The day continued with a meeting with the pre-novices and novices in Ba Thon and then Mass for more than 900 members of the Salesian Family.

Imara, D. R. Congo - February 2017 – On 12 February the members of the Councils of the various groups of the Salesian Family met in Imara with Fr Jean Claude Ngoy, Central African Provincial (AFC), for a moment of reflection and sharing of commitments for the year 2017.
