Ljubljana, Slovenia - April 18, 2017 - A group of volunteers and friends of the Salesian parish of Ljubljana Rakovnik, under the leadership of Ms. Vika Brozovič, has been working faithfully for the Slovenian Salesian Bulletin for years. At the beginning of 2017, the Salesian Bulletin changed its name to "Don Bosko". It is published four times a year and has been renewed and expanded in content. After the pilgrimage of the relics of Don Bosco and the Bicentenary Year of his birth, the name of the Saint of the Young has become well known throughout Slovenia; Over the years there has been a constant growth of the Salesian Family and with its new name the Salesian Bulletin hopes to spread the knowledge of Don Bosco and Salesian work.
Madrid, Spain - April 2017 - From 13 to 16 April, about 1400 young people from Salesian centres participated in the Easter ceremonies organized in various places in the two Salesian Provinces of Spain.
Rome, Italy - April 2017 - On 12 April a catering school was inaugurated at Don Bosco Boys’ Town (Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco). Catering courses are among the most popular in the area, so in 2014 it was decided to renew and expand the premises that housed the course. Three professional kitchens were installed, two of which are already operational. Currently about 100 students can participate, while next year they hope to have at least 150. At the end of the course students acquire a certificate qualifying them as chefs capable of working in the kitchen, or as bartenders in the lounge. Students also have the opportunity to do internships in companies, which often leads to a job. In addition, the Centre is taking steps to ensure that advanced culinary courses are offered in the future.
Guwahati, India - April 2017 – A few days ago a support structure for migrants called "Bosco Sahayak Desk" was inaugurated at the Don Bosco College of Bongaigaon, in the Province of Guwahati (ING), The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Alex Kattakayam, SDB, Director of the college, in the presence of various Salesians, co-workers and members of the parish staff.
Nairobi, Kenya - April 2017 - The First Congress of Salesian Brothers of the Africa-Madagascar Region is being held in Nairobi from 18 to 24 April. The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime will speak as well as the Councillor General for Formation, Fr Ivo Coelho, and the Councillor for the Africa-Madagascar Region, Fr Américo Chaquisse.
Ypacaraí, Paraguay - April 2017 - In preparation for Holy Week students from Don Bosco Ypacaraí staged the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
