Araçatuba, Brazil - April 8, 2017 - About 300 young people participated in the first Vigil of Mercy conducted by the Pastoral Care Team of the Catholic University at the Auxilium Centre in Araçatuba. Sinntal, Germany - April 2017 - One of the most original features of the courses for carpenters of Don Bosco Sannerz of Sinntal, in the Salesian Province of Germany, is the course of work experience. Students visit different companies in order to improve their technical skills, get new ideas, share experiences and learn about the world of work. The objective of the Youth Services Centre at Don Bosco Sannerz is to integrate students in companies. Most of the students are migrants or from difficult backgrounds.
Milan, Italy - April 2017 - The first conference of the Educative Pastoral Community Councils of the Colleges and University Residences of the Province of Lombardy-Emiliana (ILE) took place on 8 April at the Paul VI Salesian University College. The Salesians in charge and the students of the Councils of the Colleges of Bologna, Forli, Milan, Parma, Pavia (with the students of the Trent College as guests of honour) met to discuss ways of animating community life and the educational project in their situation. After the opening address of Fr Carlo Busana, National Delegate for Salesian University Colleges, and a presentation of their pastoral situation by the students of the Councils, the group was invited to consider the interventions of Dr. Johnny Dotti, expert in Social Economics and professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and Fr Marcelo Farfán, General Coordinator of the Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS). Fr Claudio Cacioli, Provincial of ILE, concluded the conference with a summary of the day.
