Turin, Italy - April 2018 – Taking place these next few weeks are the spiritual exercises being coordinated by the “Commission for Salesian Sites”, involving about 130 Salesians coming from various provinces and nations. There will be two shifts at Colle Don Bosco, in Italian, preached by Fr Stefano Martoglio, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region; Fr Silvio Roggia leads the English-language group; two rounds at Valdocco, in Spanish, shall be preached by Fr José M. Nuñez; in Italian, by Fr Pascual Chávez. Castelnuovo, Capriglio, Chieri, Turin-San Francesco di Assisi are the stages for these moments of celebration and reflection. The welcome and animation by the communities of Colle Don Bosco, Chieri and Valdocco-Maria Ausiliatrice are the ingredients that make these moments for the soul particularly special.

Guadalajara, Mexico - April 2018 - The 10th Successor of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, arrived in the capital of the state of Jalisco, Guadalajara, yesterday evening, Monday, April 16. Fr Hugo Orozco, Provincial of Mexico-Guadalajara, and members of the Provincial Council welcomed him at the “Miguel Hidalgo” Airport. His visit to the Guadalajara Province, which begins formally today, Tuesday 17, ends Saturday, April 21, in the city of Tijuana.

Évora, Portugal - April 2018 - On 7 April the Salesians Casimiro Morais and Salvador José, originally from East Timor, were ordained deacons. The ceremony was presided by the Archbishop of Évora, Msgr. José Francisco Alves.

Seoul, South Korea - April 2018 - On April 13, two Salesians were ordained priests: Paul Lee Hyun Jin and John Baptist Yu Sang Cheol. The ceremony was presided by Msgr. Benedictus Son Hee-song, bishop of the diocese of Seoul.

Péliföldszentkereszt, Hungary - April 2018 - On 7 April the Salesian Brother Gábor Kirner made his final profession from the hands of Fr. Béla Ábrahám, Provincial of Hungary (UNG).

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - April 14, 2018 - The Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, celebrated the Eucharist for the young and the laity in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Port Moresby, followed by moments of dialogue. Previously, upon his arrival at the Shrine, he had been joyfully welcomed by the Salesian community. Cardinal Parolin is in Port Moresby for the meeting of the Federation of Episcopal Conferences of Oceania (11-18 April).
