Hua Hin, Thailand - July 2018 - The annual Retreat for the members of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) of Thailand took place from 20 to 22 July at the Salesian house in Hua Hin with 90 participants from 13 centers of the country. Almost all local SDB and FMA delegates were present. Mgr Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, bishop of the diocese of Surat Thani, led the exercises on the theme "The disciples of Jesus Christ, live and proclaim the new evangelization". During the Mass on 22 July, presided by Fr J. Bosco Thepharat Pitisant, Provincial of Thailand, 12 new Salesian Cooperators made their promise. Thus the number of ASC members in Thailand rises to 177.
Puerto Natales, Chile - July 2018 - The pastoral educative community of the Salesian High School Mons. Fagnano of Puerto Natales organized the "Villa Feliz" winter camps from 9 to 13 July. Over 250 children led by 70 animators, young students of the college and of the Salesian Youth Movement, participated.
Zafferana Etnea, Italy - July 2018 - The penultimate weekend of July saw twenty-one families of the Salesians of Don Bosco of Sicily and Tunisia gathered together in Zafferana Etnea to live two days of fraternity and sharing. Organized by the parents of a Salesian trainee and by the director of the Theological Institute of St. Thomas of Messina, the meeting saw the participation of Sicily Provincial Fr Giuseppe Ruta who presented in a report the figure of Mamma Margherita and Papa Francesco Bosco, thus underlining the importance of the family in the vocational journey of the Salesian consecrated person.
Caracas, Venezuela - July 2018 - On July 21, in the parish "María Auxiliadora" of Sarria, the priestly ordination of Salesians Víctor Mendoza and of the Vietnamese missionary Phan Tuan took place by the imposition of hands of Msgr. Enrique Parravano, SDB, auxiliary bishop of Caracas.
Batulao, Philippines - July 2018 - The directors and economers of all the houses of the North Philippine Province (FIN) took part in a workshop-seminar on the theme "Leadership with the heart". It was organized by the finance committee under the guidance of Fr Edwin U. Ulanday, SDB, FIN Provincial Economer.
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - July 2018 - On 7 July, the Salesian Vice Province of Papua New Guinea - Solomon Islands (PGS), celebrated its second Provincial Day wherein all Salesians and aspirants participated with sports activities, games and lunch on the beach. In the afternoon, there was a Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving with songs in various languages.
