Santa Clara, Cuba - July 2018 – For ten days, over 60 teenagers and young people from the city of Santa Clara took part in the traditional summer activities of the Salesian center of Carmen: They were accompanied by animators, Salesian Cooperators and Salesian Fr Eduardo Marroquín.
Belluno, Italy - July 2018 – From 20 to 22 July, at the Salesian Institute "Agosti", the Salesian Cooperators in charge of Formation throughout Italy experienced three days of study and reflection to define the national plan of initial formation for Aspirants. The days of study and discussions included those responsible for the formation and several Provincial Coordinators; their aim: to develop the new plan according to the 4x3 skills model, that is: the four pillars of "knowledge" (knowing, knowing how to do, knowing how to be, knowing how to live in communion) combined with three dimensions: human, Christian and Salesian. The model pivots on the person to bring out its unity in the path of formation. This plan aims to be shared both in construction and in application and unify the path for the aspiring Salesian Cooperators.
Porto, Portugal - 14 July 2018 - During a Eucharist presided over by Fr José Aníbal Mendonça, Provincial of Portugal, the young Diogo Almeida made his perpetual profession as Salesian of Don Bosco.
Port-au-Prince, Haiti - July 2018 - On 7 July, Salesian Jerry Mondésir made his perpetual vows. The celebration was presided over by Msgr. Ducange Sylvain, SDB, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Port-au-Prince.
Kigali, Rwanda - July 2018 - On 14 July, Fr Camiel Swertvagher, Superior of the African Great Lakes Vice Province (AGL), presided over the perpetual professions of three Salesian priests and a Salesian brother.
Kaczory, Poland - July 2018 - The first missionary camp called "Boscolonia" was held for children and adolescents in Kaczory, a municipality near Ostróda, from 9 to 19 July. The Salesian Youth Center in Żyrardów organized the event led by Fr Tomasz Łukaszuk and a group of missionary volunteers and educators from the Salesian Mission Center. Through various activities, the participants learned about the local customs and traditions, culture and language of some African countries. In addition to the missionary activities, the participants took part in woodworking workshops, photography, language and memory techniques, games, sports and guided tours.
