Tiruchy, India - August 2018 - On August 24 and 25, 18 Salesian brothers of the Salesian Provinces of Tiruchy (INT) and Chennai (INM) gathered to participate in a reflection and sharing meeting on the theme "Be a witness."
Oświęcim, Poland - August 2018 - On August 16, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Oświęcim, two Salesian clerics from the province of Krakow (PLS), Patryk Chmielewski and Krzysztof Papierz, made their perpetual profession. The ceremony was presided over by the Krakow Provincial (PLS), Fr Adam Parszywka. The event was held in the context of the Festival "Music of St Hyacinth", patronal feast of the province of PLS, of which St Hyacinth is patron. A very significant moment was the reopening to the public of the Chapel of St Hyacinth after the necessary restoration work. The Holy Mass was presided by Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Councilor for the Central and Northern Europe Region.
Hong Kong - August 2018 - At the Aberdeen Technical School in Hong Kong, the Salesian Youth Day was held on 12 August, the theme: "We are family". There were 150 participants from the Philippines, Mongolia, Macao and Hong Kong.
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina - August 2018 - Ten Salesian delegates for Formation of the provinces of Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil plus two Salesian brothers from Brazil and Argentina gathered for the annual meeting of the Regional Commission for Formation (CRF). During the meeting, led by Fr Juan Carlos de Pablo, coordinator of the CRF, various issues were addressed: statistics on initial formation in the Southern Cone Region and their interpretation; situation of the provincial commission for the formation of every province; reflection on the documents of the Salesian Congregation "Formation of Formators", "Letter on the Seminar on Salesian Meditation", "Letter on the discernment of the two forms of Salesian vocation", by Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation; various events promoted by the Formation sector at provincial, regional and international level.
Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo - September 2018 - The Summer Camp runs from 27 August to 5 September, and is organized by the Salesian "Cité Don Bosco" in Brazzaville, of the Vice Province of Africa Congo Congo (ACC). Hundreds of young people attended.
Santiago, Chile - September 2018 - On September 1, the Salesian deacon Osvaldo Valenzuela received the ministry of the priestly order at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians. The celebration was presided over by Msgr. Cristián Roncagliolo, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Santiago, concelebrated by Fr Guillermo Basañes, General Councilor for the Missions, and Fr Carlo Lira, Provincial of Chile.
