(ANS - Vatican City) - Fr Vitaliy Krivitskiy,SDB, a member of the Poland-Krakow Province (PLS), and currently parish priest of the Parish of St. Peter in Odessa, Ukraine, was appointed by Pope Francis on 30 April as Bishop of the diocese of Kiev-Zhytomyr in Ukraine.
(ANS – Alotau) – Sr. Ma Theresa Trinh Vu Phuong, FMA, has been helping Vietnamese fishermen to be freed and repatriated to their home country. Over 130 of these Vietnamese fishermen have been detained in the prisons of Alotau, Giligili and Bomana in Papua New Guinea for illegally fishing and harvesting berche-de-mere in Milne Bay Province. Sr. Trinh looks after the needs of these Vietnamese detainees and serves as interpreter and mediator for them at court hearings.
(ANS - Rome) - "We do not want to answer only questions that come from our own heads or exchange our knowledge - otherwise we will always say the same things. We really want to study deeply the situation of today's youth", those who “attend Church", but “also those who have never entered a church, those who are in prison, involved in drugs or organized crime." This is the view of Salesian Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, Archbishop of Tegucigalpa, on the forthcoming Synod of Bishops (October 2018) on "Young People, Faith and Vocation Discernment".

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Argentina – UNISAL Participates in the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”(ANS – Río Grande) – From February 19 to 21, the cities of Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia hosted the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”, organized by the University Network for the Care of the Common Home (RUC) and the Municipality of Río Grande, with support from the National University of Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF). The event brought together universities from Argentina, Latin America, and the Caribbean to discuss sustainability and conservation in these regions, with the Salesian University of Argentina (UNISAL) playing an important role.

This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
