(ANS - Vatican City) - "The Pope has the moral strength to speak to governments and peoples, and we trust that there is an international mission, help ... the Holy See can do much to shed light on our situation," said Msgr. Diego Padrón, President of the Venezuelan Bishops' Conference (CEV), at the end of the private hearing with Pope Francis, a meeting expressly requested by the CEV Presidency, which took place yesterday, June 8.
(ANS - Rome) - On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the martyrdom of the five young oratorians of Poznań - which took place in Dresden on 24 August 1942 - and as we approach the 18th anniversary of their beatification - celebrated by Pope John Paul II in Warsaw on 13 June 1999 - the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, travels to Poznań to commemorate the martyrs and their testimony.
(ANS - Rome) - In the course of the summer plenary session of the General Council, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of his Council, appointed the Provincials of two Provinces of the Mediterranean region: Fr Giuliano Giacomazzi, for Italy Lombardo-Emiliana (ILE), and Fr José Aníbal Milhais Pinto Mendonça, for Portugal (POR), as well as Fr Timothy Zak for East United States Province (SUE).

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
