Manaus, Brazil – September 2024 - On Sunday 22 September, Fr Gabriel Romero, Councillor for the America South Cone Region, concluded the Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian Saint Dominic Savio Province of Manaus, Brazil (BMA). The Regional Councillor celebrated the Eucharist during the Salesians Retreat, including all the Rectors, and gave the Salesian Goodnight, sharing some reflections and the conclusions of the Visit. A few days earlier Fr Romero had met with the Provincial and the Provincial Council to tell them about the strengths he perceived in the Province and the challenges that await them to continue to help the Salesian charism grow in this region. One reason to thank God is undoubtedly the presence of many committed, courageous and determined missionaries who, from the origins of this hundred-year-old Province until today, have made every effort to dedicate themselves to the service of young people. And creativity and fidelity to this missionary commitment continue today among those who are part of the Province: foreigners and Brazilians, many of whom come from different ethnic groups in the north of the country. "May our Mother Help of Christians continue to bless this beautiful and multifaceted reality and always give us the strength to continue taking care of our dear Amazon," said the Regional Councillor.
