(ANS – Rome) – From 16 to 19 January 2025, Valdocco, Turin will host the Salesian Family Spirituality Days (SFSD), an annual event that attracts members and sympathisers of the Salesian Family from all over the world. The event, now in its 43rd edition, will be a valuable opportunity to explore the Strenna's message for 2025 – entitled "Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people" – as well as to celebrate Salesian spirituality, share charisms and strengthen fraternal ties between participants.
(ANS - Rome) – The Salesian Congregation extends its heartfelt congratulations to His Eminence Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime on his recent appointment as Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (DIVCSVA). This announcement was made by the Vatican Press Office yesterday, January 6, 2025, the Solemnity of the Epiphany. With a decade of distinguished service as Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Cardinal Fernández Artime has demonstrated exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the Church and the Salesian community. In light of his new role, he shared his thoughts with ANS.
(ANS – Rome) - Cardinal Angelo Amato, son of Don Bosco and a prominent figure in the Catholic Church, passed away on the evening of 31 December 2024. He dedicated his life to serving the faith and honouring the holiness of numerous individuals through canonisations. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void, but his legacy in the Church and among the faithful will continue to inspire generations.
(ANS – Rome) – Renewing an ancient and prestigious tradition dating back to the time of Don Bosco, the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio, at the head of the Salesian Congregation from 17 August 2024 ( Art. 143 of the Constitution), is preparing to offer his thoughts on the Strenna for the new year to all the Salesians and members of the Salesian Family around the world. The theme for 2025, chosen last July in collaboration with Card. Ángel Fernández Artime, 10th Successor of Don Bosco, is: “Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people”.
(ANS – Rome) - The traditional Christmas gathering of the General Councillors from the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) took place last evening at the newly renovated Salesian Headquarters, Sacro Cuore. After two years at Valdocco, this year’s meeting marked a significant return to Rome, where the spirit of unity and celebration was palpable.
(ANS – Rome) – Since the time of Don Bosco, the annual message of the Strenna has accompanied the Salesian family and the lives of Salesian communities worldwide, serving as a guiding principle that shapes paths of education, evangelization, and development in response to the signs of the times and the life of the Church. Consequently, the presentation of the message of the Strenna is a highly anticipated moment for the entire Salesian Family. For the upcoming year, the message of the Strenna is ready under the theme: “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with Young People.”

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.
