(ANS – Rome) – Expectation is growing and work is continuing for the third edition of the Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF), the Salesian international youth film festival, dedicated this year to encouraging young people around the world to contribute through their short films in building up a world greener and sustainable, under the theme of the festival "I Have a Dream - Youth and climate change - Making Mother Earth cleaner and greener". With almost a month to go before the deadline for the submission of the films, in the various continents and in the different Salesian Regions the young people are creating or already completing their creative works, to then be submitted to the evaluation of the juries in search of the final victory.
(ANS – Rome) – The entire Salesian Youth Ministry is oriented, by its very nature, to vocational discernment, since its ultimate goal is to help young people discover their own concrete path to realize the life plan to which God calls them.
(ANS – Rome) – The Rector Major, Card. Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of the other members of the General Council, on 26 June 2024, appointed Fr Gabriel Ngendakuriyo Superior of the St Charles Lwanga Vice-Province of Africa Great Lakes (AGL) for the 2024-2030 period.
(ANS– Rome) – The last video in the series "It is Time for Chapter 28", with which Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, illustrated the eight Action Guidelines delivered after the 28th General Chapter, will be made public on Wednesday, 26 June 2024, from 1 pm Italian time (UTC+2). In this last episode, the guideline entitled: "Accompanying young people towards a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE" will be examined.
(ANS – Rome) – The 2024 Thanksgiving Celebration for the Rector Major was a true festivity of fraternity and sharing. In the beautiful setting of the Salesian community "San Callisto" near the catacombs of St. Tarcisius on the Appian Way in Rome, the Salesians of the Central Salesian Headquarters – and beyond – expressed their gratitude towards the 10th Successor of Don Bosco for his 10 years of service to the Congregation and the Salesian Family. They also honored their confreres celebrating significant anniversaries of profession or ordination this year.
Rome, Italy - June 2024 - On Monday 24 June, the traditional Feast of Thanksgiving for Don Bosco and his Successors at the head of the Salesian Congregation was renewed for the 154th time. The Feast of Thanksgiving 2024 had its own evident special features that made it even more special than usual: first of all, it was once again celebrated in Rome, after the two years of celebrations in Turin. Secondly, and even more so, because it represented the last Thanksgiving Feast for Ángel Fernández Artime, 10th Successor of Don Bosco, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation since March 2014 and created Cardinal in September 2023. He will receive a new appointment from the Holy Father Francis next August. Several Sons of Don Bosco of the community, who are celebrating their respective jubilee anniversaries this year, were also honoured.

RMG - St. Francis de Sales Communicator: All for Love
(ANS – Rome) - The figure of St. Francis de Sales, chosen by Don Bosco as an example of a communicator, teaches that communication is a matter of the heart. In his expression, "Everything in the Church is love: everything lives in love, for love, and of love," we understand his revolution in the way of communicating, and how communication becomes fruitful when it allows communion and the exchange of one's experiences in a path of accompaniment and collaboration in God's project.

WHAT A GIFT TIME IS!
THE MESSAGE OF THE VICAR OF THE RECTOR MAJOR,
Fr Stefano Martoglio, SDBThe beginning of the new year is illuminated in our liturgy by the ancient formula with which the Israelite priests blessed the people: "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord show His face to you, and have mercy on you. May the Lord turn His countenance to you, and give you peace."
