25 June 2024

(ANS– Rome) – The last video in the series "It is Time for Chapter 28", with which Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, illustrated the eight Action Guidelines delivered after the 28th General Chapter, will be made public on Wednesday, 26 June 2024, from 1 pm Italian time (UTC+2). In this last episode, the guideline entitled: "Accompanying young people towards a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE" will be examined.

"We have reached the final episode, the last for this six-year period. It is a proposal to the entire Congregation to make a journey with young people in guaranteeing a sustainable future ", the 10th Successor of Don Bosco begins in the video, where he speaks from the renovated chapel of the Letter from Rome, at the Salesian Sacred Heart of Jesus house.

The Rector Major observes in the video how the current times are delicate for the care of creation, and recalls that in recent years the Congregation, together with the entire Salesian Family and many young people, has been very committed, with many initiatives, regarding the care of our Common Home. At the same time he also reiterates: "This is not a guideline only for this six-year period: we know well that it must accompany the pastoral, educational, and youthful animation of all our settings".

The Salesian commitment is in line with the appeals of Pope Francis and his predecessors on this aspect and Card. Fernández Artime stresses the need for the Salesian Congregation, as an institution dedicated to the education of young people, to develop in them a sensitivity to the care of creation, to the sustainability of life, to the care of all lives.

At the end of "It is time for Chapter 28", the Rector Major takes the opportunity to greet the Holy Father at the end of his mandate, set for 16 August 2024, and reiterates that even with new assignments his Salesian heart and his attention to the developments that the Congregation will take in the future will never be lost.

The video will be available in Italian, Spanish, English, French and Portuguese, in the respective ANSChannel language channels.
