(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consensus of the General Council, has arranged to relocate the headquarters of the Salesian Historical Institute (ISS), with its library, and the Salesian Central Archive (ACS) inside the complex of the "Maria Sede della Sapienza" Vice Province of Rome and the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS).
(ANS - Rome) - Trafficking in human beings is a problem of enormous proportions. The Fourth World Day of Prayer and Reflection against Human Trafficking, taking place a few days ago, is not simply a desire to mark or discuss the subject, but a commitment to raise awareness on an issue that hurts, makes many suffer, an issue that kills, destroys people.
(ANS - Rome) - Elaborated during the last Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family, the "Decalogue of the Salesian Accompanyer" constituted a sort of gift of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians to the Rector Major in giving thanks for the message of the 2018 Strenna. It, however, is above all the expression of the desire of the Salesian Family members to become true and effective companions of the young, why the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, assured everyone right from the very start of his desire to share it in every Salesian presence and community. For this reason, we are re-publishing it today.
Jesus continues to save humanity through our work, our self-giving, our good will. He continues to point out the road to us lest we lose our bearings and our way, and we always assist those who are growing weary, the humblest, the poorest, the least.
(ANS - Rome) - By Decree 568/SG/2017, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, canonically established the "San Giuseppe" Salesian community, based in Rome, Via Marsala 42, whose purpose is to cater and provide to the services of the Salesian headquarters.
(ANS - Rome) - "A cause of beatification is not an arid procedure, but a pilgrimage of faith in research, meditation and imitation of the virtuous heroism of the saints," said Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family to explain his peculiar mission. The Postulator has just published a dossier on the current state of Salesian Sanctity, to December 2017, which contains very interesting data on the testimonies of many men and women who followed Don Bosco on the path of sanctity. It also presents an invitation and call for the whole Salesian Family to advance the causes in progress.
