I attended the Salesian high school, which forces you to be concrete and rational. Today I run my own company of about 50 people, which is developed in three States. There are 50 families to take care of. So yes, you must be rational." This is how Michal Hort, World President of the Don Bosco Past Pupils' Association, describes himself.
(ANS - Rome) - After the celebration of the First Seminar on promoting the causes of beatification and canonization of the Salesian Family, April 2016, with over 110 participants from all over the world, there were many requests to consolidate the path undertaken by organizing a new edition: it is, in fact, scheduled from Tuesday 10 April to Saturday 14 April, 2018, in Rome.
(ANS - Rome) - The theme of Salesian Mission Day (GMS) 2018, "Whispering the Gospel in Asia", was presented on the day of the Epiphany. This year the focus falls on the first proclamation of the Gospel on the Asian continent, especially those spoken via the Vocational Training Schools.
(ANS - Rome) - The 36th Salesian Family Day will begin in a few days. Fr Eusebio Munoz, Secretary of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family and responsible for the Salesian Family Day (GFS -2018), has been working for several months in the mother house of the Salesian Congregation in Valdocco to organize an event that brings together hundreds of people from all over the world. The work focusses on Strenna 2018, recently presented by Fr Ángel Fernández Artime: "Cultivating the art of listening and accompanying." It explores and discusses the biblical text, "Lord, give me this water" (Jn 4:15).
Rome, Italy - January 2018 - On the mandate of the continental provincials in the framework of Project Europe, the first meeting of the study group for the formation of lay persons and Salesians in Europe is under way in Rome at the Sacred Heart. The Councilors for the Mediterranean Region, Northern Europe, Formation and Youth Ministry are present. Moderated by Fr Francisco Santos from the Dicastery of Formation, work sessions opened with the greeting and the words of Fr Francesco Cereda. Despite the diversity of contexts, languages and cultures, the meeting highlighted the progress made, progress that requires an even more systematic and concrete coordination.
(ANS - Rome) - The VI General Assembly sees the representatives of the “Volunteers With Don Bosco” gathered in Rome; coming from different parts of the world, they meet to reflect on the theme: «"Like living stones "(1 Pt 2:5) - to grow in communion."

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
