Rome, Italy - April 2018 - From April 18 to 21, Fr Francesco Cereda, Vicar of the Rector Major, made the canonical visit to the "San Callisto" community. During his visit, among various commitments, Fr Cereda inaugurated the new site of the catacombs of San Callisto, a sacred, historical and cultural heritage site entrusted to the custody of the Salesians.
(ANS - Rome) - A seminar began yesterday, Monday 16 April, for the leaders and operators of the Salesian Mission Offices, the Planning and Development Offices, the various foundations and other Salesian organizations involved in activities of communication, fundraising, and development. The seminar's theme is digital marketing: "Technology at the service of the mission."
(ANS - Guadalajara) – A popular old Mexican saying states "there is no deadline that is not respected." And the Salesian Family of the Mexico-Guadalajara Province (MEG) is happy to see that this is indeed the case: today, 16 April, the waiting ends because the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, returns to Mexico to meet his confreres and all those who share the charism of Don Bosco and carry out its mission.
(ANS - Rome) - Fr René Santos, SDB, is the representative of the Dicastery for the Salesian Schools of America in the Youth Ministry Department. During the Team Visit to the Interamerica region in 2017 in Bolivia, Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, asked him to collaborate with his team so as to have a referent for America.
(ANS - Rome) - On the occasion of the second Seminar to promote the causes of beatification and canonization of the Salesian Family, which will be held in Rome from April 10 to 14, 2018, the Poster of the Salesian Holiness has been updated.
(ANS - Rome) - Every year on April 6th the "International Day of Sport for Development and Peace" is commemorated: a day that represents a global challenge, even as one looks to the next World Cup in Russia and the diplomatic tensions in progress between many countries. Today more than ever, sport must be an instrument of development and peace and for the Salesians in particular it represents an engine in the fulfillment of its own educational task.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
