(ANS - Rome) - Alberto Marvelli was born on 21 March 1918 in Ferrara. 100 years have passed since that distant day and many in the world know his life, his educational, charitable, social and political commitment.
(ANS - Rome) - Remembering Saint Domenico Savio in this special year that the Church dedicates to young people is significant because not only was he a model and an example for his companions at the Valdocco oratory, but he also knew how to embody the role of a team captain or leader, a sort of teacher in the ways of God (as Don Bosco also saw him in the dream of Lanzo in 1876). The confirmation of this comes from the life of various Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God who made the proposals of Domenico their own: Laura Vicuña, Zephirino Namuncurà, Giuseppe Kowlaski, Alberto Marvelli, Giuseppe Quadrio, Ottavio Ortiz Arrieta.
(ANS - Rome) - With a Mass and subsequent sharing with members of the Provincial House of Seville, the recently appointed Archbishop of Rabat, Morocco, the Salesian Msgr. Cristóbal López, SDB, offered his greetings to his confreres as Provincial of the Province of Spain-Mary Help of Christians. He then travelled to Rome to meet the Rector Major, and later, the Holy Father. Next Saturday, 10 March, he will be ordained in the presence of the same Fr Ángel Fernández Artime. Below, his choices for the motto and the episcopal coat of arms.
(ANS – Roma) – Do you have in your Salesian school, your SDB community room or refectory or in the entrance of your Oratory or Youth Center one beautiful Salesian World Map? It goes much beyond our curiosity: How many are the Salesian communities? How many are the Salesians in each province? How many are the Salesian communities in India, in South Sudan or in Argentina?
(ANS - Rome) - "From March 19 to 24, about 300 young people from all over the world will come to Rome for a preparatory meeting of the October Synod," Pope Francis announced a few weeks ago. "There will also be young non-Catholics, non-Christians, non-believers, so as to listen to the broadest range of young people possible."
(ANS - Rome) - With a beautiful and passionate letter, Pope Francis addressed young people all over the world and gave them the message for the World Youth Day (WYD) of 2018, which represents another step in preparations for World Youth Day, taking place in Panama in 2019. The Pope reminds young people that Mary will be the companion of this wonderful journey.
