The promoters of the specialisation course intend to offer a reflection and the distinctive skills of Salesian educative and pastoral leadership, which complement the other levels of formation previously acquired. In other words, they want to move towards an integrated approach to high-level European Salesian formation, seeking synergies between the experiences and reflections present in international contexts.
The objective of the course is to train leaders, consecrated Salesians and lay people, capable of guiding – within a work or in a sector of the Salesian mission – the processes of discernment, animation, and educative and pastoral and formative coordination with the criteria of the Salesian charism.
The objectives of the course are as follows:
1) Generate a space for exchange and learning among those responsible for Salesian works regarding the challenges posed by local situations and institutional management.
2) To explore the fundamental concepts of the Preventive System in terms of history, spirituality and Salesian pedagogy.
3) Provide contextualised formation tools based on the professional and charismatic situations of Salesian institutions.
4) Improve management skills in planning, communication, teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution and formation processes for Salesians and lay people.
Those to whom the course is addressed are Salesian educators from Salesian presences in Europe, called to develop national, provincial or local leadership in forming educative and pastoral agents. To be admitted to the specialisation course, candidates must present a letter of accreditation from their Salesian Provincial, indicating the responsibility entrusted to them. They must also have a university degree.
