01. Domodossola, Italy – June 2023 - From 1 to 8 June, as part of the activities of the summer plenary session of the General Council, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the members of his General Council, participated in a week of Retreat led by Fr Giuseppe Roggia, SDB.
02. Turin, Italy – June 2023 - The Superiors of 10 Salesian Vice-Provinces and Provinces from 6 regions (Africa-Madagascar, East Asia-Oceania, America South Cone, South Asia, Central and North Europe and Interamerica), participated in the formation course for newly appointed Provincials, from 12 to 23 June at the Mother House of the Salesian Congregation.
03. Turin, Italy – June 2023 - On 24 June, the feast of St John the Baptist, the Salesian Family remembers Don Bosco's Name Day and celebrates the Feast of Recognition for his Successor. This year's celebration, marked by the death of the Rector Major's mother, Isabel Artime Garcia, was held more simply, at the same time expressing everyone's gratitude to the Rector Major.
04. Bolton, Great Britain – June 2023 - Bolton) – The meeting of heads and representatives of Europe's Salesian publishing houses took place from 12 to 15 June. The event, promoted by the Social Communication Sector, led by Fr Gildasio Mendes, in collaboration with Fr Ricardo Campoli and Fr Maciej Makuła from the same Sector, was organised by the British “Don Bosco Press” publishing house.
05. Huancayo, Peru – June 2023 – A solemn Eucharist was celebrated at the Santa Rosa Salesian Institute in Huancayo to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Huancayo. The main celebrant was Fr Juan Pablo Alcas Michilot, Superior of the Salesian Province of Peru (PER).
06. Nairobi, Kenya – June 2023 – The 2023 Marian Congress was held from 28 June to 1 July at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Upper Hill, Nairobi, involving, among others, Fr Alejandro Guevara, World Spiritual Animator of ADMA, Fr Simon Asira Lipuku, AFE Provincial, Fr George Tharaniyil, appointed AFE Provincial from 2023-2029, and Fr Emilius Salema, Superior of the new St Artemides Zatti Province of Tanzania (TZA).
07. Talisay City, Philippines – June 2023 – The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of the two SDB Provinces and the Philippine FMA Province brought together 60 delegates from 28 June to 2 July for the 2023 National Assembly Days. The goal was to strengthen the role of the SYM in relation to new challenges, to foster formation, celebrate the roots of the movement in Christ, promote fellowship and plan for the next three years.
08. El Houssoum, Lebanon – June 2023 - As part of the Lebanon Project initiated by the Mary Help of Christians Province, Spain (SMX), and coordinated by the Middle East Province (MOR), a Formation School for leaders was held at the Salesian house at El Houssoum (Jbeil). The school encourages the formation of leaders from Salesian houses in Syria and Lebanon, including Iraqi refugee leaders.
