(ANS - Córdoba) - In Argentina the Salesians offer assistance to thousands of children and young people in vulnerable situations. In recent years the Sons of Don Bosco have engaged in a typically Salesian project entitled: "Amarrando Redes de Solidaridad" (Connecting Networks of Solidarity) which, faced with a selfish and individualistic culture, wants to prod open "a new culture of solidarity."

"Amarrando Redes de Solidaridad" is a project that aims to foster support among the various Salesian houses belonging to the "Beato Artemide Zatti" Province of Northern Argentina (ARN).

The initiative is the result of the work being carried out by the Planning and Development Office of the same Province since 2011 and aims to create that climate of fraternity that Don Bosco always been promoted among his Salesians.

Operationally this project starts with the presentation of the needs of those Salesian houses that for some reason are going through situations of vulnerability in the service offered to children and young people.

In the first phase of raising awareness, a video is broadcast showing some of the works that will be beneficiaries of solidarity. Then, thanks to the generous dedication of many families, throughout the year the necessary help is brought together to strengthen the educational-pastoral proposals of the various Salesian centers accompanying children, young people and adults in situations of risk.

In 2018, the Salesian center "Oratorio Domingo y Laura" of Corrientes was chosen, so it may continue its action in support of its educating children, young people and adults, thus providing them an essential tool by which to build a future for themselves.

The Corrientes oratory presented a complete formation proposal. "Here we have an associative and catechetical proposal," says Dario A., Director, "but the jewel of the last few years is the Vocational Training Center. We offer young people four-month courses that give them the opportunity to learn a useful trade for their life: courses for hairdressers, cooks, tailors, carpenters, furniture manufacturers, electricians, air conditioning systems repairers, as well as scholastic support. The desire is to train these young people so they can work."

"Sometimes looking at the young there are those who say that there are no solutions, that they are all delinquents ... But at the oratory we have shown the opposite, that it is possible to change," comments Facundo, one of the animators.
