Pordenone, Italy - September 2021 - On Friday, 9 September, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, met with the Salesian community and the citizens of Pordenone, to celebrate the Holy Mass. It was a moment of great importance for all present. The Salesians arrived in Pordenone officially in 1924 with the first Rector, Fr Renato Ziggiotti. But the mission was already initiated in 1920 by Fr Giuseppe Marin, a priest of the diocese of Pordenone, who had started some youth work, setting up a first boarding school named after Don Bosco.
