Turin, Italy - 1940s - This old black and white picture shows the Library of the International Institute Don Bosco of Turin - Crocetta, as it appeared in the 1940s. It was Blessed Filippo Rinaldi, in 1923, to transfer the Theological Studentate to its current location in Turin Crocetta.
Cartago, Costa Rica - 1913 - Young people who were part of the Salesian musical band, in the Costa Rican city of Cartago, pose in front of the College of Arts and Crafts. The Salesians arrived in Costa Rica on July 20, 1907, landing in Puntarenas and then heading towards Cartago, where the country's first Salesian presence was established.
Mogofores, Portugal - 1958 - On the 1st June 1958 the ceremony for the laying of the first stone of the National Shrine of "Our Lady Help of Christians" of Mogofores took place. It was then inaugurated five years later, on May 25, 1963.
Guayaquil, Ecuador - An old picture showing a group of students from the "Cristóbal Colón" Institute of Guayaquil during a gymnastics performance. The beginnings of this institute date back to August 8, 1892, when the National Council of Ecuador approved the foundation of a school of Arts and Trades that would be under the direction of the Salesian Congregation. Officially, the school began operating with its first 8 students in 1912.
