Manique, Portugal - 1950 - The first evening classes aimed at adult students at the Salesian school in Manique began in the 1950s. These classes were a great success and led to truly satisfactory results, so much so that the influx of new students continued to grow throughout the decade. Thus, even in the following years, the Salesian school in Manique continued to promote adult literacy.
