(ANS – Rome) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, continues his visit to some of the most significant works of the Salesian presence in sub-Saharan Africa. After various stops in the St Charles Lwanga Vice-Province of Africa Great Lakes (AGL), he is preparing to visit the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country where the Salesians have been present for 113 years.
(ANS – Turin) – On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Don Bosco’s dream of nine years, Museo Casa Don Bosco proudly introduces a temporary exhibition running from May 22 to September 22, 2024 to celebrate the narrative, history and iconography of the Dream inspired St. John Bosco’s life and mission.
(ANS – Oświęcim) – Two hundred years ago Don Bosco had a dream in which God called him to work with and for young people. His dream has come true and materialised in many places around the world, and for 125 years it has also been carried out by his spiritual sons in the Salesian school in Oświęcim, in the St Hyacinth Krakow Province, Poland (PLS).
Vietnam – Reviving the Salesian mission in the North of the country, with hope and missionary spirit
(ANS – Hanoi) – Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councillor for the Missions, arrived in Hanoi, the Capital of Vietnam, on 8 April 2024, to conduct the Extraordinary Visitation on behalf of the Rector Major, Card. Ángel Fernández Artime, to the North Delegation of Vietnam (DVN). This visit to the north of the country is part of the extensive visit – which began on 2 August 2023 and will last almost a year in total, although carried out at different times – to the St John Bosco Province of Vietnam (VIA), a circumscription that has a total of 360 confreres and 37 houses.
