When he reached the Salesian house of San Juan Bosco in Valencia, on Wednesday 11 May, he said to those present: "Thanks, really, for making possible the dream of Don Bosco."
During his visit he met with the members of the Social Platform of the "Ángel Tomás" Solidarity Foundation and conversed in a very familiar way with educators and young people. "You are a priority for us,” he said, “of all students, these are the ones Don Bosco would choose first".
Before presiding over the Mass with the Salesian Family of the communities of Valencia and Burriana he said: "God does not send vocations for us to fulfil our programmes, but to be the fathers and mothers of many boys and girls who need it."
Yesterday, 12 May, he visited the headquarters of the publishing house "Edebé" and encouraged those present to "do everything possible so that Edebé may always have the strength it shows today." He said that supporting the publishing house, for its service of education and evangelization, is one of the policy lines of the Congregation and the Province. He also visited the Salesian University School of Sarriá and invited them "to strengthen what is proper to their training programme."
In the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians he greeted the groups of the Salesian Family. He said, "They have to stand out for their autonomy, which leads them to communicate and to grow, not only in number but also in identity."
After Mass there was a simple family moment and Fr Á.F. Artime recalled the feast of Mother Mazzarello, cofounder with Don Bosco of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians - the perfect theme for his "Good night". "Be consecrated women, truly free and full of hope," the Rector Major told the sisters.
