RMG - Meeting of European Delegates for Social Communication

(ANS - Rome) – A meeting of the European Delegates for Social Communication started yesterday 12 May. About 20 delegates attended as well as Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and members of other Departments. The opening was celebrated by Fr Filiberto González, Councillor General for Social Communication. This was followed by the first sharing of good practices in each province.

Each Social Communication Delegate presented a challenge or a project to be developed in their province over the next two years. Today, 13 May, Professor Bruno Mastroianni of the University of the Holy Cross will speak on the theme "Values, limitations and risks of social networks in corporate communication", in relation to the institutes and congregations of consecrated life. In the afternoon there will be a lecture by Professor José María La Porte, Dean of Communication of the University of the Holy Cross, entitled "Religious Congregations: their strengths and opportunities in corporate communication." After each lecture there will be a moment of dialogue in the assembly.

Work will continue on 14 and 15 May with discussion of various issues, including the challenges and plans for the next two years and areas of collaboration, presentation of the document on the presence in social networks in the provinces, the conclusions and agreements for growth in collaboration.
