The young people and their leaders came from more than 30 Salesian centres. They were accommodated in the Houses of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Rome. They were later joined by other groups from other Salesian centres in the rest of Italy.
Each group had its own spiritual programme which included especially the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the crossing of the Holy Door at St Peter's, followed by a visit to a tent of Mercy.
A big number of them gathered on the evening of Sunday 24 in a large courtyard in Rome for an additional time of celebration and the "Game of Mercy": 14 stages to help them to remember the works of mercy they had rediscovered during the Jubilee.
The SYM Secretariat of Central Italy was responsible for the organization and the welcome for these days, and involved many volunteers for the logistical aspects.
At the end of Sunday 24, everyone present ended the day in the Temple of Don Bosco with a prayer and the Good Night by Fr Fabio Attard, Councillor for Youth Ministry. He gave some ideas on the true meaning of love, beauty, goodness and sharing, and encouraged them to continue to become every day "merciful like the Father."
